Bailiffgate Museum and Gallery offers a diverse and exciting programme ever of exhibitions, talks, courses and workshops. All paid-for events are bookable through this website, and the price includes admission to the Museum. For any help you need please contact us. All talks, courses and workshops take place at the Baliffgate Museum and Gallery include light refreshments in the price unless stated.

Exhibition  6th Feb- 11th March 2018  Felton Art Group bring a wide range of subjects and styles to Bailiffgate


Free Event*:  Family Thursday  15th February Suitable for all ages of children

This time we have a theme of Sunflowers ( as in Van Gogh). Make your own sunflower  using polystyrene eggs, kebab sticks and sticking feathers, paper, card etc to form the flower. Or try making Sunflower plates. And as it is the Chinese New Year we could also make lanterns, fans and dragons/dogs (It is the Year of the Dog)     *Normal admittance applies



Weaving Course  Sat 3rd March  Freeform Weaving with Eta Ingham Lawrie .

Note this March course is for those who have already begun to acquire weaving skills eg from a previous course. There is a beginners course in September, however As Eta's courses always fill up quickly, you are strongly advised to book here for whichever is appropriate asap 




Free Concert  (With Admission ) Sunday March 4th 2pm onwards 

 Alnwick Symphonic Wind Ensemble   (An offshoot of Alnwick Playhouse Concert Band ) 


 Director Ray Thompson   A  selection of works by Mozart, Gounod, Elgar and Dvorak etc..




Talk  Tuesday 6th March 7.30pm  "Alnmouth and My Family" by John Yearnshire

Residents' Day Sat 10th March 2018

Our annual event when adults who are resident in Northumberland receive entry at the vastly discounted rate of just £1. Note: this is a last chance to view the excellent Felton Art Group exhibition, plus all of our collection highlighting the people and history of our wonderful county in the last 10,000 years. 





Museum Tots   Held the second Monday of the month during term time - next session Monday 12 March  2018 

Great fun and mental stimulation for pre-school children. £2 per child. Free entry for accompanying adult

Exhibition  Friday 16th March - 3rd September:2018  Batteries Not Included - an exhibition of toys and pastimes through the years . Curriculum-linked for school visits. Lots of hands-on activities for families. Suitable and great fun for all ages from toddlers to the "young in heart".



Sewing Course Mon 30th April  Beginners Sewing Course

One of a range of enjoyable and useful events throughout 2018 designed to help you save money and acquire new skills. Any one day course, including materials for most  events, is only £25 (with a £10 deposit required) and there is a 10% reduction for multiple bookings.

September - October: Borders, Boundaries and Beyond -  Creative group "It Happens" return with another amazing textile exhibition

November: an exhibition celebrating 100 years of local Womens Institute groups.
