Working with Schools and Colleges

Bailiffgate is working with a number of schools on projects aimed at encouraging awareness of our rich local heritage amongst future generations. Typical of these projects is the one featured below:

Jill Mallen (Bailiffgate Volunteer) and Joyce Jenkins (Headteacher) at the coffee morning on 19th September at Amble First School. The museum and school are producing a textbook for the school on the history of the school and town.

At the coffee morning local people brought photographs and other memorabilia and shared memories of their school days inspired by finding their names in the school's old admissions registers going back to 1941.

Working with Partnership Organisations

We are happy to be participating with other venues in the town, including Alnwick Payhouse in the Arts Award. Discover Alnwick Town Trail, an interactive town trail aimed at 5-11 year olds and their grown ups, can be downloaded here or you can collect an A3 size printed copy from the museum. Come and look for art and learn something new. Normal admission charges apply.
